Connect your non-wifi enabled DSLRs with this DIY project
More cameras these days are WiFi-enabled, allowing you to connect it to your tablet or smartphone to control it remotely from a distance. What about for cameras that has no WiFi built-in?
A photographer found a way to enable older cameras with no WiFi to be connected to the web, and then controlled like any modern WiFi-enabled camera – and it cost less than USD 40 (~RM 160). All you need is a portable wireless router, an app and time to set everything up. It does involve some firmware updating, and a bit of technical knowhow.
Once everything is set up however, you can control your DSLR wirelessly. The best part of this setup is that it can be used with most modern DSLRs, and it is cross platform. So it can be a worthy investment if you want to try it out. Check out the steps how to enable that here.
