The MKD comes with three detachable arms that allow the drone to map out its location and safely detonate mines from a safe distance.

The MKD is a hexcopter that comes with arms that are interchangeable between three components, a robotic arm, a high resolution camera, and metal detector. By flying the drone around, it uses its camera to mark dangerous area within a 3D aerial map with Global Positioning Systems (GPS) waypoints.
Following that, the MKD flies around again with its metal detector looking for deadly mines. The drone will fly above 4cm from the ground thanks to its previously generated 3D map and geotag mines. Lastly, the MKD drops a small detonator on the mine and detonates it from a safe distance.
The MKD team is aiming to raise up to €90,000 (~RM401,710) via Kickstarter to keep the project afloat. If the campaign reaches its goal, we can expect to see MKDs de-mining war zones starting June 2017.
