Dual Camera Xiaomi Redmi Pro Officially announced, retailing from RM915 ($225)



Xiaomi has launched a new smartphone that Redmi Pro. Redmi Pro is a smartphone that come with a high spec but sold at a reasonable retail price of CNY1,499 (about RM915)(about $225).



Xiaomi Redmi Pro adopts a metal unibody design with brushed metal finish that looks classy yet feel good to hold in hand.


Redmi Pro comes with a 5.5-inch full HD OLED display with 2.5D glass atop. The new OLED screen gives a clearer display than the regular LCD screen.




It is powered by a deca-core processor Helio X20 or X25 coupled with Mali-T880 GPU. This device is also equipped with 3GB / 4GB RAM, storage options of 32GB/ 64GB / 128GB and 4,050mAh large capacity battery.



Camera wise, Redmi Pro adopts dual rear camera as its main shooter. Its main image sensor uses a Sony IMX258 13-megapixel unit and a 5 megapixel secondary Samsung sensor and also a 5MP camera for the front-facing snapper. The main function of the dual-camera system is to offer depth of field effect just like the one seen on DSLR camera.


This device also supports 4G LTE network, as well as microSD card slot that can also be used as a second-SIM card slot.


In addition, the device also comes with a fingerprint scanner embedded on the Home button, USB Type-C slot and uses MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box.


Redmi Pro comes with three color choices: gold, silver and gray. It comes in three variants, which are as follow:

Mediatek X20 processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB ROM = CNY1,499 (about RM915)($225)
Mediatek X25 processor, 3GB of RAM and 64GB ROM = CNY1,699 (about RM1,038)($255)
Mediatek X25 processor, 4GB of RAM and 128GB ROM = CNY1,999 (about RM1,221)
($300)

Redmi Pro will officially go on sale in the China on 6 August.
