Not everybody has the time, experience, or patience to carefully assemble a desktop system of their own. If you happen to be such a person, Acer’s new range of pre-assembled Aspire X3 and XC desktop towers would definitely be of interest to you.

The Acer Aspire X3-780.

Aspire X3

  • available in one variant (Aspire X3-780)
  • 3.4GHz Intel Core i7-6700 processor
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745 graphics card
  • 4GB of DDR4 RAM
  • 2TB hard drive
  • an optical DVD-RW drive
  • three USB 3.0 ports
  • four USB 2.0 ports
  • two HDMI ports
  • one RJ45 LAN port
  • an audio combo jack
  • Wi-Fi 802.11ac adapter

What separates the Aspire X3-780 from most desktop systems these days is that it even has a Qi wireless charging pad, which you can place your smartphone on to wirelessly charge it – provided your device is Qi-enabled, of course.

The midrange Aspire XC-780, meanwhile, has a 2.7GHz Intel Core i5-6400 processor, an NVIDIA GeForce GT 730 graphics card, 4GB of DDR4 RAM, 1TB hard drive, and an optical DVD-RW drive. The Aspire XC-780 shares the same amount (and types) of connectivity ports as the Aspire X3-780 as well, but loses out on the Qi wireless charging pad.

Last but not least, we have the entry-level variant of the Aspire XC-780, which has a 3.7GHz Intel Core i3-6100 processor, Intel HD Graphics, 4GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 1TB hard drive.

As far as prices are concerned, the Aspire X3-780 will be retailing for RM3,499, while the midrange and entry-level variants of the Aspire XC-780 will be going for RM2,399 andRM1,599, respectively. The Aspire X3-780 will be available in early August, while both variants of the Aspire XC-780 can be purchased from today onwards.

Launched alongside the Aspire desktops is the 27-inch Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) KG270 AMD FreeSync monitor, which despite its size and its FreeSync capabilities, costs only RM759. Apart from its 1ms response time and 60Hz refresh rate, the KG270 is also furnished with Acer’s suite of EyeProtect technologies as well, including Acer Flickerless technology, Acer Bluelight Shield, and Acer ComfyView.
If you’re finding the display of the KG270 a little too big, a smaller, 24-inch variant dubbed the KG240A will be arriving next month for RM899. If you're wondering why the KG240A is priced slightly higher than the KG270, it's because it has a higher refresh rate of 144Hz.
